Making sustainable farming knowledge usable across Europe.
Helping a Horizon Europe consortium turn proven research and on-farm practice into stories and resources small-scale farmers can use.

Why this mattered.
Small-scale farms play an important role in European agriculture and rural communities but are disappearing across Europe. At the same time, significant knowledge on sustainable farming practices already exists in research projects, scientific literature and among farmers themselves. Much of it remains fragmented or does not reach the farmers who could use it. The project was established to identify successful practices across Europe and transform existing knowledge into practical, accessible tools and examples for small-scale farmers.
Drive the uptake of sustainable farming practices across Europe by making proven research and best practices easier for farmers to access, adopt and apply in their day-to-day work.
How we responded.
Szpirt & Company is supporting the project with strategic communication, media relations and stakeholder engagement. As a consortium partner and lead beneficiary of the work package dedicated to inspiring communication of success stories, we help translate a complex European research project into stories that are relevant to farmers, policymakers, agricultural organisations and the media.
Our work includes developing international and country-specific press activities, identifying relevant media angles and supporting the communication of the project’s most promising practices and success stories. The communication effort forms part of the project's broader ambition to make practical farming knowledge accessible through formats including fact sheets, videos, storytelling tools, digital resources and other end-user material.

Strategic communication and media relations
Translate a complex European research project into stories relevant to farmers, policymakers, agricultural organisations and the media.
Where things stand.
The ongoing collaboration is helping the project build visibility around the challenges facing Europe’s small-scale farms and connect the project’s research with audiences beyond the research community. Through targeted communication and stakeholder engagement, the project is creating a foundation for its findings and success stories to reach farmers, policymakers and agricultural stakeholders across Europe.
